The Big 24!

I had the best birthday weekend a girl could ask for!  The weekend started off with Lindsay, Sam and Amri coming in town on Thursday.  And let me just say... I have the greatest sister in the whole world.  Even with 5 years between us, she is my best friend and I was so grateful that she would come spend my birthday with me!  We went to the St. George Rodeo on Thursday night and had a blast!  I absolutely love rodeos and decided to make it a yearly birthday tradition..it was that fun!

On Friday, I went to breakfast with Lindsay, Sam and Amri, then we went to the pool and waited for Tyson to get home.  Tyson was in Atlanta all week for work, so I was thrilled to have him fly home on my birthday.  He met us for lunch at Paradise Bakery.  Friday night I went to Bunco and my beginners luck won me the high score prize!  Woot woot!

On Saturday, my mom treated us to a girls day!  We went to lunch and then to Red Mountain Spa for pedicures.  That night we all went out to dinner at Durango's and had cake and opened gifts afterward.  It was such a fun weekend and I feel so blessed to have spent it with my awesome family!

Amri is just darling and takes such good care of Norah

Isn't she the cutest?!

Here's to an awesome 24th year!  Thanks for all the birthday wishes!

Norah is 4 Months!

Well I kinda missed the three month post, so here is what Norah has been up to in the past 2 months!  We feel blessed to have her in our family!

-Is a drool machine and her finger sucking doesn't help. But she hates having her mouth wiped.
-Has really discovered her hands. She holds them together up in front of her face and stares at them.
-Has started to sleep through the night more consistently. She usually sleeps from 9pm until 6ish.
-Is laughing more and more and has the sweetest little giggle.
-Loves our evening walks in her stroller!  Can't wait for it to cool down, so we can do more of that.
-Thinks it's pretty funny when Mom does little raspberries on her tummy or when Dad plays peek-a-boo with her.
-Manages to flip herself 180 degrees in her crib every night, so in the morning her feet are at the opposite end of the crib that they started.
-Does great going to sleep at night and for her morning nap, but other naps can be a little hit or miss.
-Loves swimming at grandma and grandpa's pool.
-Was 12 lbs. at the doctor on 8/11 (41st percentile).
-Gets so excited when we come to get her out of her crib after she wakes up.  That is probably when we get the biggest smiles.
-Favorite position is definitely standing.  She has the strongest little legs and we can rarely get her to sit down.
-Loves bath time and has discovered that kicking her legs makes the water splash.
-Grabs onto her toys and puts them straight into her mouth.  She loves them!
-Started to touch her hair and ears when she eats.  It is so cute!
-Was able to meet her great grandma June, who turned 96 this year!  They loved meeting each other!

Norah is 2 Months (and a few weeks)

We have had what seems like a busy July and Norah is already 11 weeks!  I can't believe it!  She is growing up so fast and we are loving every minute with her.  We spent a couple of weeks in Salt Lake and had such a fun time visiting with family and friends.  While we were up there, Tyson blessed Norah and she was able to share her blessing day with her cousin Lucy.  It was such a special day.  Here's what Norah is up to these days!

She handled her shots like a champ.  After some initial crying, she fell asleep before we got to the car and pretty much only woke up to eat for the next 36 hours.
Somehow she manages to turn herself sideways in your crib.  I am amazed every time!
She is such a smiley girl!  A high-pitched voice talking baby talk can always get a grin out of her.
She is becoming more interested in toys and loves holding her rattle and trying to fit it in your mouth.
She is such a strong girl!  She loves standing up and sitting in her Bumbo.
She still wakes up once during the night, lately it has been around 4am.  On a few lucky occasions she's slept from 11pm to 6:30am!
She loves pulling on (and out) Mom's hair.  It always ends up tangled in her little sweaty fists.
She still loves bath time.
She loves to lay on her back and kick her legs, but she likes to have someone there to give her some attention.
Car rides are still a little hit and miss.  She either falls right asleep or screams her little lungs out.
She has recently discovered her fists and loves sucking on them.

Here are many many pictures of what we've been up to!

Norah is One Month (+some)

Well the last 7 1/2 weeks since Norah June joined our family have flown by.  Motherhood has been an incredible adventure thus far and I am amazed by how I can love someone so small so much.  Norah is growing so fast and my love for her grows everyday!  We feel so blessed to have little NoJu in our lives.  I missed her one month post, so I figured I'd make it up now before she is two months old!

Some things about Norah at one month:

Tucks her thumbs into her fists...just like grandpa.
Talks in her sleep...just like Mom.
Loves being outside in warm St. George.
Loves looking at natural light through the window.
Has been crossing her feet (and eyes) since she was born.
Hates baths, but loves having her hair washed once she is wrapped in her towel.
Has such strong neck and loves to bob it and look around.
Poops in her towel after almost every bath.
Lets her arms go limp a good majority of the time. (They are so fun to play with!)
Has started to grow into her skin, but still has a good amount of loose skin on the back of her neck (I love it!).
Gets a little sweaty head anytime she falls asleep with her head touching your skin.
Loves to sleep on anyone's chest, especially Mom’s (though I don't know who loves it more!).

Prepare for a major photo overload!

Norah's Nursery

Well, we are all moved in and mostly settled!  And can I say how much I love our home?!  It is so fun to have a place of our own!  Still have some furniture projects to start...and finish and eventually I guess I should think about hanging something on the walls, but for now I am just happy to have finished Norah's nursery.  It has been so fun to finish all my sewing and painting projects and create a space for her.  I love how it turned out!

Now all we are waiting for is a little Norah baby to join us!
